Padel Balls

Padel Balls

Difference between tennis and padel balls

Padel is played with a special padel ball. This ball looks like a tennis ball, but there are definitely differences. Tennis balls are larger and lighter than padel balls. Furthermore, the internal pressure is much higher at 8 kg compared to a padel ball, which has an internal pressure between 4.6 and 5.2 kg. As a result, padel balls bounce less explosively. The type of ball used in padel has lower pressure, resulting in a less explosive bounce and less power when striking. This makes the padel ball less intense compared to tennis balls, which directly impacts the playing experience.

Different brands of padel balls

We offer a diverse selection of padel balls from different brands, such as Siux, Tretorn, Adidas and Head padel balls. You can order per tin (3 padel balls), per box (24 tins of 3 padel balls) or in single tubes, offering flexibility for whatever quantity you need. By choosing one of these brands, you’re guaranteed the best padel balls. JustPadel is also the ideal place for all your padel gear. Ordered before 22:00, shipped today! Free shipping in the Netherlands and Belgium on orders from €75.

Playing padel gets even better when you pick the right padel balls. You can buy padel balls in single tubes or boxes, which are both handy and practical for storage. An official padel ball features a rubber core for optimal performance. Different types of balls are available, such as a fast ball, and the number of balls per box can vary, so make sure you choose the right fit for your game.

Maintaining lower pressure in padel balls

A padel ball is slightly smaller than a tennis ball and has lower pressure. This makes the padel ball slower and bounce less forcefully than a tennis ball. Padel balls are made from synthetic felt material and filled with gas for optimal pressure. The felt layer of padel balls can consist of natural wool or synthetic fibres, which impacts the ball’s performance and durability. To maximise the lifespan of your padel balls and ensure they maintain their pressure for longer, keep these key tips in mind:

  • Avoid exposure to cold: Padel balls react poorly to cold, so it’s not ideal to store them in a cold car, shed or similar environment. It’s best to keep padel balls at room temperature.

  • Protect against extreme heat: Just like with cold, padel balls don’t do well in high temperatures. When playing padel on a hot, sunny day, we recommend keeping the balls in the shade or inside your bag, away from direct sunlight.

  • Keep the balls in the tube: It’s a great habit to keep your balls in the tube they came in, rather than leaving them loose in your bag. This also helps prevent potential moisture issues, which can negatively affect the quality of your padel balls.

In terms of durability, for someone playing a few times a week, balls generally hold up well for 2-4 weeks after opening the tube. For advanced players who play more intensively with frequent smashes and longer rallies, durability may decrease, as the balls are subjected to significantly more stress.
