The WPT of Brussels has started!
On Wednesday, April 26, 2023, the WPT started in our neighboring country: Belgium. In this tournament, the best padel players in the world compete for the WPT title of Brussels, which was won by the men in 2022. Juan LeBron & Alejandro Galan and in the women's race the dominant duo Alejandra Salazar & Gemma Triay won .
Prize money

- The 2 teams that lose in the semi-finals earn €3,000 as a team.
- The team that loses in the final earns €5,200 as a team.
- The team that ultimately wins the final earns €8,000 as a team.
The big favorites for the WPT of Brussels
Big names are also participating in this edition of the WPT with a chance to win the WPT title in Brussels. Among the men, special attention should be paid to Franco Stupaczuk & Martin Di Nenno (WPT rank: 2), Sanyo Gutierrez & Jeronimo Gonzalez (WPT rank: 3) and Fede Chingotto & Paquito Navarro (WPT rank: 4) . The biggest favorites for this edition of the WPT are perhaps Arturo Coello & Agustín Tapia (WPT rank: 1), because they have won 3 of the last 4 WPT finals. The final that was lost was against the original numbers 1 of the WPT ranking Juan LeBron and Alejandro Galan.
There is also a huge setback among men for the original number 1 of the WPT ranking. Juan LeBron has suffered an injury, which means that he and Alejandro Galan will not participate in the WPT of Brussels and will therefore not be able to defend their 2022 title.
Among women there is actually only one big favorite and that is Gemma Triay & Alejandra Salazar ( WPT rank: 1). This duo has only lost 1 of the last 9 tournaments, this was in the final of the WPT in Barcelona.
