The Stiga Cybershape 18K LW2 is the lightweight version within the Cybershape 18K range and has been developed for players seeking control, precision and manoeuvrability, without placing unnecessary strain on the arm, elbow or wrist. This model combines the familiar Cybershape characteristics with a lower weight and a more neutral balance point, resulting in a more forgiving and controllable feel than the heavier 18K models.
The 18K LW 2 is neither a power racket nor an entry-level model. It is a technically controlled all-round racket, aimed at players who want to control the pace and play consistently.
What type of player is this racket suitable for?
The Stiga Cybershape 18K LW 2 is particularly suitable for right-handed players at Intermediate to Advanced level who wish to build up their game through rallies, placement and defence. The lower weight makes this racket particularly appealing to experienced junior players, as well as to men and women who deliberately choose a lighter racket offering high control.
In addition, this racket is also suitable for left-hand players with an all-round playing style, who do not rely on brute smash power but do want precision and speed in their game.
Key features
The Cybershape design provides a sweet spot that is approximately 20 per cent larger than that of traditional round rackets. This sweet spot is positioned higher and wider on the head, providing extra confidence when hitting shots close to the glass and the floor. The balance is neutral to light, which contributes to the racket’s high manoeuvrability and controlled character.
The hitting surface is constructed from 18K Carbon Silver Weave and offers a medium to medium-hard feel. The face is noticeably less stiff than the 18K Hard variants, with more flex and a softer ball contact, yet it remains more direct and precise than models with lower carbon content. This delivers a fine combination of control, speed and feel.
The frame consists of the 360 Carbon Frame, made entirely of carbon, which ensures stability and a quick response, even at higher ball speeds. The core provides sufficient damping to keep the racket arm-friendly, without losing its direct feel.
The hitting surface is finished with Crystal Grip, a textured surface that enables extra spin and control. The extended grip offers extra flexibility and space for two-handed strokes. The wrist strap is detachable and easy to replace.
Playing feel and performance
On court, the Stiga Cybershape 18K LW 2 feels light, controlled and highly manoeuvrable. In rallies, you play with great composure and precision, whilst the racket responds quickly in defensive situations and at the net. On the attack, you can accelerate well using timing and technique, without the racket becoming erratic or too direct. Off-centre contact is more forgiving than with the ‘Hard’ versions, which ensures greater consistency.
